(Page contents are for informational purposes only, CONSULT A DENTIST FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT.)
Oral and maxillofacial surgery; it is the branch of dentistry in which applications such as treatment of oral, dental and jaw related diseases, deformities, traumas and fractures, impacted teeth, residual roots, extraction of wisdom teeth, treatment of joint disorders, apical resection are performed. It is also the branch that deals with the treatment of cysts, gingival lesions and tumoral formations.
Our patients are diagnosed by evaluating the clinical examination and the dental films taken, and are informed about possible treatments.
Various surgical operations are performed in our polyclinic.
Tooth extraction: It is the process of removing the teeth that cannot be restored or that have completed their life in the oral environment by anesthetizing them.

Complicated tooth extraction: Unlike normal tooth extraction, it is a surgical procedure in which the roots are separated and pulled piece by piece due to the destruction of the tooth that needs to be extracted, or the gingiva is opened and the bone is removed and the extraction is performed.
Impacted tooth extraction and extraction of wisdom teeth: Teeth that remain under the gingiva and jawbone, which cannot come out of the mouth for various reasons, are impacted teeth. Wisdom teeth are the third molars that come into the mouth between the ages of 16-25. It can cause dental problems by being buried in the jawbone or only in the soft tissue for various reasons, and can cause dissolution in this tooth by pressing on the adjacent tooth, causing gingival and jaw problems. Impacted teeth should be extracted if they cannot be brought to the oral environment and disturb the patient. Unlike normal tooth extraction, surgical opening of the gums and bone removal may be required. Treatments vary from patient to patient.

Apical resection: It is the process of opening the gingiva towards the root end of the teeth by anesthetizing the area to be treated, then cleaning and closing the infection in the root of the tooth with a window opened in the bone.
Masseter botox: Masseter muscle is the strong chewing muscles located on the sides of the jaws. When this muscle is used too much for reasons such as clenching, grinding, chewing gum, it grows and causes a square face appearance. Masseter botox is the process of injecting an agent produced from botulinum toxin into this muscle. The enlarged musculature becomes smaller and thus the lower part of the face, which turns into a square, gains a thinner and more aesthetic appearance. In addition, wear on the teeth due to clenching and grinding is prevented. The pain felt in the jaws and head and neck region also goes away. This process is effective for 4-8 months, after which it may need to be repeated. In general, after the third application, the treatment is completed as a result of the disappearance of the habit of clenching in the muscles that relax.
