Pedodontics; it is a branch of dentistry that deals with the oral and dental health of children.

In the first examination, all teeth of the child are examined by the dentist, and the child is given the opportunity to get used to the dental clinic environment. Parents are informed about current dental problems and treatments.

In our polyclinic, various treatments such as fluor (fluorine) application, fissure sealant application, filling, amputation, root canal treatment, tooth extraction and placeholder are performed for children.

Fluor application; it is the process of applying a material containing fluor (fluorine) to the teeth under suitable conditions with the help of a brush, which strengthens the structure of the teeth. Thus, the teeth become more resistant to caries.

Fissure sealant application: The grooves and recesses on the teeth are susceptible to decay due to food accumulation. It is the process of covering these surfaces with a suitable filling material in order to make these surfaces easier to clean and to keep the teeth healthy for a longer period of time.

Amputation; it is usually done on deciduous (primary) teeth. It is done in order not to lose the vitality of the tooth and to keep the tooth in the mouth for a longer time in cases such as the progression of the caries to the nerves of the tooth. Before starting the procedure, the tooth is anesthetized. Caries and some pulp nerve tissue are cleaned without touching the nerves and vessels in the root and covered with a filling material. However, in cases where the infection is too advanced, it may be necessary to extract the tooth and place a placeholder.

Placeholder: When the primary teeth are lost prematurely, there is not enough space for the permanent teeth coming from below and the teeth can be positioned crookedly and various jaw problems may occur. In order to prevent the closure of the places of the permanent teeth to be erupted, apparatus called placeholders and suitable for the oral environment are made.

Deciduous (primary) tooth filling: Some parents do not care about baby tooth decay because of the thought that their children’s deciduous teeth will fall out and new ones will come. This is a wrong thought. Because primary tooth decays can damage the permanent teeth coming from below and cause dentist phobia along with unwanted bad traumas in children.
