It is the branch of dentistry in which the treatments of diseases related to the gums and soft tissues surrounding the teeth are made.

Dental calculus (Dental plaque); they are formations that contain bacteria and various deposits and adhere to the teeth. They cause swelling, redness and bleeding in the gums by damaging the teeth, the bone surrounding the tooth and the surrounding tissues.

If dental calculus is not cleaned regularly; gum recession, tooth sensitivity, bone loss, and in advanced cases, teeth may fall by shaking. Teeth cleaning is a painless treatment that is done with hand tools or ultrasonic tools.

Gum aesthetics; it is the procedure applied to the gums to make the gums look aesthetic when smiling. With local anesthesia, aesthetically cutting gums (gingivectomy) or shaping the gums (gingivoplasty) and gingival leveling are performed. In this way, the teeth, which are disturbed by their short appearance, appear longer in the mouth, and the amount of gum that appears too much when smiling (gummy smile) is reduced.
