Dental prostheses are artificial teeth applied to eliminate these disorders in the teeth of people whose natural tooth structure and chewing function are impaired and to regain chewing function. Dental prostheses made not only help to preserve the health of the surrounding tissues, but also ensure that the aesthetic appearance is restored and the teeth are fully functional. These prostheses made in dentistry:
Removable Prostheses
removable prostheses; They are prostheses that can be applied to regional or completely edentulous patients and can be removed and inserted from the mouth. A lot of rehearsals take place during the build phases and can take between 7-14 days to complete.
They are prostheses in which the chewing function is restored to the patient by filling the missing areas with teeth by using hooks (clasps) and nails from the patient’s own teeth.

By coating the patient’s own teeth in his mouth, sensitive retaining parts (ball attachment (ball head), sliding system) are added to the edge of these coatings. Subsequently, the partial denture is used with support from these sensitive holders. The support parts used in this way are hidden inside the prosthesis. It is a more aesthetic and useful system.
They are removable prostheses that are supported by the soft tissues and gums in the mouth made for edentulous patients.

Fixed Prostheses
Fixed prostheses; It is performed in the form of covering the yellowed and worn teeth with excessive tissue loss, teeth with increased fragility due to root canal treatment and large fillings, and teeth with incorrectly positioned axes in the jaw, curved or rotated teeth. They are artificial teeth in which the missing tooth tissue and chewing function are fulfilled and cannot be removed.
In addition, in areas with missing teeth, the chewing function in the form of a bridge can be regained by reducing the teeth on the edge of the area and placing a tooth in the empty area by getting support from those teeth. This type of coating system is called “bridge”.
Depending on the material used and the working performance of the technical laboratory, the construction of fixed prostheses takes 4 to 7 days. In this process, after the teeth are cut and reduced, the temporary veneer made on the same day is attached and used throughout the process. Infrastructure rehearsal followed by dentin rehearsal is done at intervals of a few days. The day after the dentin rehearsal, the teeth are polished and the final rehearsal is done for the last time. If all is well, the teeth are cemented (glued).

It can be made as Metal-Porcelain Coatings, Zirconium Coatings and E-MAX Coatings according to the material used.
They are coatings made with the inner part of metal (for strength and supporting the porcelain) and the outer part covered with tooth-colored porcelain.

They are coatings made with the inner part of Zirconium (for strength and supporting the porcelain) and the outer part covered with tooth-colored porcelain. Difference from metal-supported coatings; The fact that the zirconium material used in the interior can support the coating as much as metal, and it is white in color. For this reason, since the porcelain on it can be processed much thinner and more transparent, much more aesthetic and natural coatings are made (the enamel layer of natural teeth is also transparent). In addition, in the profile of the patient with thin gingiva, problems such as the reflection of the grayness of the metal from the bottom are prevented.

Unlike other coating types, they are coatings made by processing ceramic blocks called IPS. E-max veneers, which are completely made in line with aesthetic needs, are the closest type of veneer to the natural tooth appearance. However, since there is no supporting material inside, they are not used in chewing areas or bridges that are very exposed to forces.
Prosthesis Over Implant
Prostheses over the implant can be made in the form of movable or fixed bridges and veneers according to the needs of the patient.

An extra 7 days (7-10 days) are required in addition to the construction period of normal prostheses for the construction of these prostheses, which are started after the time the implants have to wait in the bone.

Removable prostheses over implants; They are total prostheses made with the support of various sensitive attachment systems such as ball attacher, locator, bar holder and magnet. They are the preferred prostheses when there is not enough bone to make a fixed prosthesis in patients whose prosthesis does not stay in place and whose prosthesis is constantly moving. The dentist plans the necessary treatment according to the patient’s jaw structure, chewing distance between two jaws and financial situation, and a precision-retained total prosthesis is made on top of 2-4 implants. These prostheses should be removed from the mouth at night and the gums should be relieved.
Fixed dentures over implants can be made in single tooth deficiencies or as a bridge in multiple tooth deficiencies. Zirconium and Metal-Porcelain systems can be preferred for the bridge. E-MAX can be preferred in single tooth systems. According to the length of the bone and the bridge to be made in total edentulous patients, fixed bridges can be made on 5-8 implants in the upper jaw and on 4-6 implants in the lower jaw, and the patient can be restored to the chewing function in the most ideal way.
Hybrid prostheses on implants, as the name suggests, are prostheses made by combining the properties of fixed and removable prostheses. These are prostheses that should be made in special cases such as the jawbone is highly resorbed (melted), the chewing distance between the lower and upper jaws is not suitable, lip support cannot be provided adequately, and smile line aesthetics cannot be provided. They are prostheses that look like removable prostheses but are used as fixed. It can be made in the form of Metal-Porcelain, Metal-Acrylic and Zirconium-Porcelain systems. Its construction is a delicate and complex task, requiring sufficient technical knowledge and artistic ability of the physician and technician.
